At Bradshaw & Lloyd we offer a delightful range of chukka boots from our NewtRider collection. These premium grade chukka boots are entirely made in England by the Sanders factory of Rushden, Northamptonshire. Under the present leadership of Henry Sanders the factory has been making the finest traditionally goodyear welted shoes from the same site since 1873.
The NewtRider chukka boots are all made on our unique Hurst last. It is the last which determines the fit and shape of a boot and we have spent two years developing this last and have been overwhelmed with the positive feedback from customers over both crucial elements: the fit and look. We wanted a boot that was both comfortable to wear for the average medium wide foot but also offered an elegant slightly chiselled toe without being too long in the toe. Too many chukka boots in our opinion provide a good toe shape but at the expense of being just too long in the toe with excess space between the toes and the end of the boot.
The quality of materials is essential and only the finest European hides are used in the production of our chukka boots, in terms of uppers, linings, soles and welts. Over the six week period over which it takes to makes each pair of hand made NewtRider chukka boots no expense is spared. Each pair is constructed using the goodyear welted method of construction whereby the soles are stitched onto the welt rather than directly to the upper leather. This is universally regarded as the finest method of shoe construction since it allows the boot to mould well to the shape of the foot and also allows the soles to be replaced in due course without degrading the integrity of the upper leathers.
If you possibly can do make a trip to our Hurstpierpoint store to view our extensive range of NewtRider chukka boots.
