Spring has arrived and summer is around the corner. It’s time to break out the essentials. The classic loafer is perfect for all seasons. However, the loafer suits the upcoming warm weather in particular due to its versatility at home, the office or on holiday. So here are, in my humble opinion, this summer’s essential loafers.
The Sanders’ Aldwych
I am a proud owner of a pair of Sanders Aldwych in black suede and they are one of the best pair of loafers I have had the pleasure to own. Made on the MATT last that provides a medium wide F fitting. The Aldwych is fully leather lined and is traditionally Goodyear welted onto leather soles. The Sanders Aldwych is a versatile loafer, can be worn both formally and casually. It is a loafer that you just cannot go wrong with. Available in; black suede, polo snuff suede, navy suede and black calf.
The Loake Brighton
A very popular loafer the Loake Brighton is showier than the Aldwych with its bold tassel. Perfect if you’re wanting a more exciting look. Made on the 97 last that again provides a medium wide F fitting. The Brighton has a polished side leather upper that has a lovely shine. Fully leather lined and Goodyear welted onto leather soles. The Loake Brighton is available in both a stunning oxblood polished leather and a black polished leather.
The Loake Rome
The Loake Rome is my final essential loafer for this summer. Made from a top grade nappa leather and a true moccasin the Loake Rome is a joy to wear. The Rome is a generous GX fitting shoe and is fully leather lined so your foot can breathe properly. The rubber forepart on the sole will allow plenty of traction and wear. Available in both burgundy and black.
