Our favourite Loakes boot for casual wear has to be the Loakes Burford 6 eyelet brogue boot. This boot outsells all other boots in our shop and online by far. Both this boot and its shoe version the Chester are made on the 024 last. This versatile last means that the Burford boot is not overly heavy looking and when trousers/jeans hang over the calf the boots could pass as shoes, ie an elegant look.
The Loakes Burford is available in black calf, tan burnished calf and burgundy burnished calf in the Goodyear Dainite rubber soled option. There is also a Goodyear welted leather soled version but this one is only available in tan burnished calf. However the one that people adore is the tan burnished calf with either rubber or leather sole. This beautifully rich tan calf just looks fabulous when worn with blue jeans.
From a technical/quality viewpoint the Loakes Burford boot just ticks all the boxes. The boot is fully leather lined with a good quality leather lining, seat sock and insole. For enhanced durability and comfort the boot has an additional through sole which makes the sole a little thicker. The leather storm welt improves the boot’s waterproofing since it encourages water to run off and away from the sole.
To cap it all the Loakes Burford boot is sensibly priced at £240.00 at www.bradshawandlloyd.com, which is considerably cheaper than other English brands of similar quality. We stock all sizes for immediate despatch.
