RE Tricker have been making premium, hand made English shoes and boots in their St Michael’s Road factory in Northampton since 1829 when Joseph Tricker founded the company. All footwear produced at the Tricker’s factory remains to this day at the absolute pinnacle of quality footwear.
The various lasts which Trickers have developed over the years are crucial to obtain the best possible fit of the shoe or boot according to its intended use and style. The quality of materials is obviously key and Tricker’s certainly don’t skimp in this area, sourcing only the finest leathers from around the world.
It’s often said that you pay for what you get and this is undeniably the case with Trickers English shoes. In the old days one was expected to invest a week’s wages on a pair of hand made shoes which would last you many years. This hasn’t altered much with a pair of Trickers shoes from their Jermyn Street and 1829 Collection now costing something in the region of £375.
The sole leather which Trickers use is particularly hard wearing but whether these or the rubber soles which Trickers use in a number of their styles do eventually wear out the shoes may be returned to the factory for a complete overhaul. The shoes or boots will be repaired on the original lasts so they will retain that original fit and be returned to you looking like a brand new pair.
