Wedding shoes

By June 5, 2023No Comments

The wedding season is upon us fellas and if you’re anything like me I reckon you have left a few details to the last minute? You may have the venue and cake sorted but do you have the right pair of shoes for the day? Well if you are stuck on what to choose here’s a short guide on styles that can help you out.

Oxfords

The most classic of all English shoe styles. The timeless and sleek Oxford will continue to look great with any outfit for years to come. The Loake Aldwych is a great choice here.

However, if you’re looking for something a bit more head turning then look no further than the Barker McClean. This two tone brogue shoe is one of the most popular shoes out there for a wedding and it’s easy to see why.

Loafers

During the height of the summer it can get a bit toasty and with nerves of the big day you don’t want to be sweating more than you have to. So why not try a pair of lightweight loafers to cool off. The Loake Imperial is a personal favourite of mine.

Country

If you rather a heavier looking shoe and something more substantial, then look no further than a good country shoe. A heavy brogue like the Barker Kelmarsh will go great with heavier corduroys or tweeds.

Boots

There are many reasons why people prefer a boot to a shoe. The ankle support they provide is second to none and during a wedding people tend to be on their feet a lot. A pair of De Winter boots is what I would recommend. These have been designed to not look too ‘boot like’ and have an elegant toe shape. So with a good pair of trousers these will look like a shoe and keep you on your feet all night long.
