Sebago shoes for the summer wardrobe

By June 12, 2015August 10th, 2021No Comments

The Sebago Dockside is an essential element of the summer wardrobe for the fashion conscious male.  These robust deck shoes compliment shorts and trousers in equal measure and come in an array of suedes and leathers to meet most style requirements.  Although there are a couple of slip-on variants in the form of the Sebago Sloop and the tasselled version: the Sebago Ketch, most Docksides and the two-tone variant the Spinnaker have rawhide laces strung through brass eyelets all around the shoe in the traditional moccasin method. These robust laces can last the entire lifetime of the shoe but can be known to come undone during wear, even when a double bow knot is used, which can be annoying.   Fortunately there is a simple solution:

Invert the shoe over a bucket of water and allow the untied laces to dangle into the water and let the leather soak for ten minutes or more.  Henceforth the laces should remain nicely tied when in use for ever more.

At Bradshaw and Lloyd we stock the most popular styles of Sebago shoes and provide a free delivery service and, if necessary, a Freepost returns service throughout the UK.  Check these out at www.bradshawandlloyd.com.
